Abstract

The subject of the paper is a complex area of ??application of the concept of open innovation. The aim of this research is to identify the perception of the application of the concept of open innovation, more precisely cooperation with the competition, entrepreneurs / tenants of business incubators in the Republic of Serbia. The online questionnaire, which was created for the purposes of this research, consists of 20 questions, through which respondents express their views on various segments of open innovation. The research was conducted within six business incubators on the territory of the Republic of Serbia (Subotica, Ba?ki Petrovac, Novi Sad, Kragujevac, Kruševac, Užice), while the research sample included 200 respondents. For the purposes of conducting statistical analyzes, the SPSS20 program was used. The answers were grouped according to gender, age, level of education with the intention of determining statistically significant differences based on key demographic variables. Based on gender criteria, the results showed that women are more receptive to the importance of cooperating with the competition. When looking at the age structure, younger respondents gave much more importance to cooperation with the competition. Respondents with the highest level of education better perceive the importance of cooperation with the competition.
