Abstract

This paper focuses on the the question of what digital transformation means for the design of organizations?
We are witnessing that digital technologies are transforming the world economy. Digital technologies lead to new
ways of organizing work and the development of a digital organization. Digital organization means cooperation with
multiple entities and less reliance on the hierarchy for the purpose of control and coordination. It also includes
empowering employees, partners and users of digital tools to create products and / or services, as well as providing
digital platforms for self-organized collaboration. Are organizations ready? In this paper, we will try to summarize
what digital transformation brings about the new organization design.
