Open Innovation Strategy and Its Influence on Entrepreneurial International Orientation

The central issue and research orientation of this paper is the internationalization of the business of
entrepreneurial ventures based on the development of open innovation strategies. In order to observe the wider context
of internationalization of business and factors influencing it, the research field has been expanded to see the
moderating impact of the use of new technologies. For the purposes of this research, the GEM (Global
Entrepreneurship Monitor) database for 2014 was used. Selection of examiners from Slovenia, Croatia, Hungary,
Romania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as Northern Macedonia, the research gets regional character, and the
results largely reflect the specifics of entrepreneurial ventures in Southeast Europe. For the purposes of this research,
and above all the very nature of variables, Ordinal Logistic Regression was used. The results of the conducted
analyzes pointed to the positive influence of open innovations on the internationalization of entrepreneurial ventures,
when it comes to entrepreneurs who base their business model on the use of new technologies.
